So, months ago now at some point one of the boys had a toy in their mouth. I took it away and must have without thinking about it said something about it not being safe and being made in China. Since then there has been much conversation in our house about where toys are made and if they're safe or not. I'm not going to get into the whole safe toy thing here. To keep it brief we do not discriminate against toys made in China. We are careful about which companies our toys come from and what materials they are made out of. Anyway, Ian is always coming up with something to say about the safe toy issue and I swear I do not feed him these lines. Tonight we had some friends and they have a toddler about Joel's age so there where 2 "babies" in the house. I here Ian fighting and crying and I go to see what he's doing. He was being stopped by Joel from putting the baby gate up.
Mommy says: "Ian what are you doing?"
Ian: crying quite hard says rather adamantly "I just don't want the babies to put China things in their mouths"
Mommy: "What?"
Ian: showing me a plastic piece of railroad track laying on his floor "These things are probably made in China and I don't want the babies to get them in there mouths, so I have to put up this gate"
While I appreciate his concern for the children I do wonder what sort of damage I'm causing by him being afraid of things from China?

Too funny! I shared it with a couple Moms. Maybe you could talk about how China is working on the problem now that it's started, and just concentrate on the materials, approval ratings or whatever, regardless of country?
Terri - your mom sent this to me! Love it!!!Keep it up I look forward to additional posts!
